StarryGlaive,
One of the questions I still have for Gears myself is how the Swarm came to be, because there is a difference between the Scion Locust that evolved and the red biomass of the Swarm and the creatures within it.
I have no idea where the tendrils originate from, but I imagine it's very similar to the vines in Stranger Things. The vines in Stranger Things grow everywhere and release spores that continue its growth. The same occurs in Swarm Hives, as the biomass also spits out red spores to help spread it.
As for Swarm Nests, they originate as Locust burial sites. The Locust Scions wake up and emerge from their crystal shells, and I assume they begin to create the Swarm from their nests. And there is no known number to how many Juvies can be placed in the Hive, but as we have seen there can be thousands, if not millions.
Most of this is conjecture and speculation, so until they give us a concrete answer as to how the Swarm operates, we can't put it in the wiki.
